The Hare and his friends
A very long time ago, there was a hare. He had many friends, big and small, in the forest. So, the hare began to feel proud of himself. “ hah! I have so many friends. I am so popular! ”he would boast of himself.
One day, awolf saw the hare and began to chase him. Getting frightened, the hare ran for help to his friend, the horse. “ o friend! “ the hare called out. “ please carry me away from here. A wolf is after me!” “ err… I am already late for work,” neighed the horse, “why don t you ask the goat?”
The hare went to the goat and begged, “Help me, O friend! A wolf wants to catch me!” “I am sorry, dear! I have an important work to do. The cow must be free at this time. Why don’t you go to her?” said the goat, running away from there. Then the hare went to the cow and sought help. But the cow was herself afraid of the wolf. So, she made an excuse and went away. Likewise, all the mighty friends of the hare did not help him.
At last, he went to the sheep. “O dear friend!” soueaked the sheep. “I could’ve helped you. But I guess there must be something wrong when so many stronger friends have declined the task.” And so saying, the sheep walked away, too. Now the hare realized that none of his friends werw reliable he began to run as fast as he could and luckily escaped from the wolf.
